Abstract—In this paper we have proposed a method for selecting images of objects for efficient coding of complex images using cellular automata. The proposed method allows selection of individual objects in the image in the form of groups of cells. The selected groups form separate objects of complex image. Encoding is performed by ordering of selected objects to a given law and the formation of the code sequence, which carries information about the objects and their arrangement relative to the reference point of the complex image.
